Juju Bar
Food & drinks menu design for tequila bar, Juju
Juju, a 35-seater Mexican tequila bar, has a personality that's audacious, playful, and unapologetically bold, and every element of the guest experience had to reflect that. Central to this was the menu—a key touchpoint in shaping a restaurant’s brand narrative. Juju’s menu needed to do more than list items; it had to amplify the bar’s personality, engage guests, and keep them lingering a little longer.
Brand Positioning
MENU DESIGN
To match Juju’s spunky identity, we reimagined the traditional menu into something that felt personal, nostalgic, and interactive—a slam book.
The menu was designed as a slam book, blending the practical with the playful:
1. Cheeky storytelling: Each section of the menu had punchy descriptions with a sprinkle of irreverence, setting the tone for the bar’s personality.
2. Illustrations that giggle back: Pages were interspersed with quirky, random illustrations that made guests laugh or pause in curiosity.
3. Interactive elements: The back pages invited guests to doodle, scribble, and share their thoughts. Whether it was jotting down their own dad joke or leaving a note for the next guest, these pages became a fun distraction while waiting for their orders.
Menus are not just a functional tool; they’re an opportunity to immerse guests in the brand. For Juju, the slam book menu reiterated the brand's identity & personality, enhanced gust experience and created shareable moments.
It wasn’t just a list of offerings—it was a window into the brand’s soul, a conversation starter, and an icebreaker. By transforming a functional element into a playful, immersive experience, we created a touchpoint that left an impression long after the tequila shots were done.
